I heard most free agents have always wanted to play for Philly. |

I don't see Andrew Ladd being "reasonable" to anyone except the Blackhawks or the Jets. His family loves Chicago, so he might be reasonable to accommodate them. But, they are already in Winnipeg, so he might be reasonable to stay there and accommodate them. Otherwise, the only reasonable thing to do when you are a 30 yr old UFA is cash in. Which he should be able to do. |

Ya, the whole situation sucks, but you got a 3rd rounder, without conditions, for a guy who was never going to play for you. I say Bravo. |

Wouldn't the Preds have gotten a compensatory pick for not signing Vessey? Or does this mean that if Buffalo doesn't sign him, they get the compensatory pick? So confused... |

Can't understand why you blame the kid. If you have the chance to play in the NHL for the team you want to play for in a city you want to live in then you take it.
The Preds could have gotten more for him last season when it became obvious that he was going free agency. Glad they got something now am hoping he signs somewhere other then Buffalo so they wasted a pick for nothing. |

Don't forget, GMTM has 2 months to convince Vesey to sign. Not anywhere close to a wasted pick. And, if GMTM sees negotiations going south, he can still trade the rights a second time. He'll get his value back somewhere in the next two months by either signing him or trading the rights away again. |

If GMTM does try to trade his rights it will not be for a 3rd rounder. The message will be that Vesey is signing with a specific team so unless you think you are the team why bother before he becomes a free agent.
That said, I believe Buffalo has a good chance of signing him. I think it is between Boston and Buffalo to sign him. |

I don't think it's even close to compare vessey to lindros, vessel to Schultz ok. Lindros made.i kwnown he didn't want to be a nordique for life as abut put it. Compare lindros to j.d. Drew john elway |

Ok think about it. Why would another GM give a 3rd rounder to TM when it's clear he doesn't want to sign with BUF. I think any GM interested will wait until Aug. 15th and not waste a pick. If Vesey is holding out until then, that means he knows exactly where he's going. |

The Lindros situation was much different than Vesey. Vesey is a free agent.(will be in a few months, but he's essentially a free agent)
Lindros' rights were owned by QUE for however long the rules said so back in the day. Whereas Vesey graduates from Harvard(good job Jimmy) and now he's essentially a free agent.
Cry me a river Paul. This is the first time I've ever really felt that you've let your emotions blind you.
As for 'compensatory pick' I believe that only applies to players drafted in the first round. Vesey I believe was drafted in the second. No compensatory pick.
And NO Leafs fans - he won't be coming to Toronto. We have no roster spot to promise him up front. Too much talent. Crappy Buffalo and crappy Boston have a better chance of offering him guaranteed playing time. |

As a Preds fan...tired of giving Vesey print time...let's move on finally !
Hopefully Preds make some kind of move in this draft. As I have posted before, someone with a net presence. David Backes would be a great fit but don't see that happening. Now Troy Brower not only would be a good fit but very do-able. |

Comparing it to the Lindros situation was just a bitter and pathetic false equivalency. Drouin's little tantrum was much closer to the Lindros situation than Vesey's is and to claim otherwise is to be completely ignorant of contract status and player's rights.
